This isn’t a particularly daring color combination but there are a few sassy details that make this outfit more…me. This simple skirt has the amazing kick pleat detail, the addition of a pattern with the belt and of course the zipper accents on the heels. All together they create a personality filled ensemble.

I really didn’t realize how many things I had in my closet to go with these blush jeans. I like the lighter color which makes them seem neutral but not as attention getting as white denim. This patterned top dresses them up a bit and would be appropriate for a plethora of occasions.

I like the pattern on these jeans (despite my husband’s opinion) but I’m no longer loving the fit. They’re a little too loose at the ankles which gives them a more relaxed feel than I want. I’m thinking about turning them into shorts. Thoughts?

I love mixing shades of one color. Pairing royal blue and aqua is always stunning. The addition of a striped button down keeps it from looking too casual and provides some simple pattern to an otherwise solid outfit.

The easiest way to mix patterns is to stay in one color family. Since I chose black and white, I also added a pop of aqua accents. The knit skirt and loose fitting top were comfortable and would work for a variety of occasions.

This shirt is such a great indigo color – flattering on almost every skin tone (even us pale ladies). I like the simple but bold detailing. No need for a necklace with this one. Of course I never need much of an excuse to skip accessories. Does this make me a bad blogger? Ugh, I really want to get better at layering accessories.

I’ve really missed my Pop Sugar Must Have boxes. So when I got a chance to review the Spring Fever VoxBox, I jumped on it! Lucky me, it showed up last week. It’s definitely not as awesome as Pop Sugar but it was still great to try some new products. So here you go…

• Broadway Nails Press-on Manicure: I haven’t worn press on nails since 1989 but I was curious to see how long these would last. The box says “up to a week” but one pinky bit the dust in less than 24 hours. I’m pretty hard on my nails (I do have two horses to work) so I only made it a little over two days. The nails were much longer than I’m used to and had an annoying plastic nub on the underside which led me to fiddle with them non-stop. I even did it at night! In the end, I’m not a press-on kind of girl. If these do last up to a week under normal wear and tear then their $5.99 – $7.99 price tag beats most manicures. See a glamor shot below.
• Secret Outlast Clear Deodorant: I’m not entirely sure how to review deodorant. Did I sweat while using it – yes. Did I smell after sweating – yes. It doesn’t leave white residue which is nice so I’ll keep it around for tank top season and black dress occasions.
• NYC Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm: Did it smell applelicious? Yes. It added a nice, subtle amount of color to lips and cheeks. I actually liked it better as blush than lip balm and have added it to my purse make up kit.
• OSiS Dust it: I was most intrigued by this product and also a little confused. I wasn’t sure how to use the product. Its a “mattifying powder that adds incredible root lift, texture and control.” So I sprinkled some on the roots and some on the tips of my hair. I did add some volume without the stickiness of wax but didn’t offer much in the way of hold. I’m going to keep playing with it though.
• Tastykake Kandy Bar Kakes: Notice that this is not included in the photo? That’s because my husband ate it. Since I’m gluten free it wasn’t something I could actually try. He’s not a huge marshmallow fan so the S’more flavor was only ho-hum to him. Sorry I can’t give you any more than that.

I wasn’t sure if green and coral would work together but I’m happy with how this combination turned out. I wanted to try this tank top in a more office appropriate outfit (see going out version here) and I could’ve stuck with black or other neutrals but why not blasts of color?

This dress makes it easy to stand out. Accessorizing is not my strong suit so I love that the dress can stand on its own. I’ve combined it with other colorful accents like fuchsia (here) and red (here) but this was the first time I used orange.

Maybe I’m crazy but I just had to find a way to wear this skirt and these pants together. The matching blush color was too much to ignore! So, does a full skirt work as a strapless peplum top? My answer is yes. Check out this skirt in it’s regular form here and here.
